Hi guys, i recently put together my first pc (yay!). Unfortunately I'm having some trouble with it.

First of all is my RAM. For some reason half of my RAM is hardware reserved, i've tried several sticks to no avail :(

My second problem is my motherboards onboard audio. There is this wierd scratchy crackling sound whenever i try to use my headphones with the onboard audio. This does not occur when im using an old Mbox.

And lastly, and perhaps least important, when in BIOS i cant see my CPU temps, but when im in windows they show in HWMonitor.

I thought it was the motherboard that was all messed up and traded it in for a new one, but the exact same problems occur.

My specs are:

CPU: AMD FX 6300

CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken x31

Motherboard: Msi 970 gaming

GPU: HD 7950

RAM: 8gb Hyperx Fury 1866hz (borrowed a matching pair from a friend, was exactly the same)

PSU: Corsair rm750

SSD: Samsung 850 evo, 120gb

Case: NZXT s340

Any help or input will be appreciated

btw go easy on me, im new to this forum :)

"First build acting up"

Give it an oscar. hehehehehe, anyway, the RAM. I unfortunately have no clue, maybe you've accidentally reserved some, tried googling this problem? With the onboard audio, some motherboards just don't have good onboard audio and therefore you'll hear that static, crackling noise. Not much of a fix for that. For the CPU you could just get an app to let you see your temps? I recommend MSI Afterburner, just follow a guide or go into the settings and untick all the things you don't want to be displayed and only leave GPU Temps, CPU Temps, CPU usage ETC ETC ETC.

Use the audio-jacks in the back I/O, not the front, the front ones are terrible

also try to use a different DIMM-slot for that ram

if nothing does it for you - maybe it's time to send it back or something.

Motherboards shouldn't have these issues these days.

Hope I could help :)

Happy for your first build bro - have fun with it! :)

Yeah the i tried googling the problem with my RAM, tried a bunch of fixes but nothing worked. The onboard audio is not just poor it's completely unusable. I have to turn the volume all the way up in order to hear anything at all, and everything gets drowned out by the distortion.

As for the temperature, im not to concerned about that myself, just found it slightly wierd :)

I tried both using the front and back audio I/O. I tried every DIMM-slot, even tried using all the DIMM slots at once (my friend had the exact same pair of ram)

And thanks, i can finally play Fallout 4 B-)
