Skyrim stuttering issue

Go to solution Solved by Fulgrim,

Try capping your FPS to 60, and use this.

And as @ManlkWeet said, what mods you running? Only weirdos play Skyrim on PC and don't mod it.

So, I'm having this weird stuttering issue while playing Skyrim. It generally only happens while looking at roots on walls or going up a flight of stairs. My PC is more than capable of running this game at 1080p completely maxed out with all the settings turned up with no problem. I've tried adjusting the video settings and still end up getting the same result. Is there a way to fix this stuttering? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

To echo what others have said, vanilla Skyrim can't handle anything past 60Hz. My monitor has a quick button to hop between 60, 120 and 144Hz and if I jump anywhere past 60 everything starts twigging out.

Even when I set my fps cap in this game to 60 fps it still does this.

give THIS a shot and see what happens

How do Reavers clean their spears?

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

This did help when I'm out in the world. But, when I'm in caves and looking at vines or multiple rock faces it still stutters.

I know you said your PC can handle Skryim, but for the sake of argument does lowering the settings do anything? Or restoring default configs? You can also try verifying the cache integrity if you bought it through Steam. Or you can run it in compatibility mode and as an Admin. Not sure if you've tried those things but all else fails, you can always try a reinstall. Your saves will still be there so no need to worry bout that.

Been using it for a day so far and it seems to have been fixed. All I did was tell Geforce to give me 'optimal settings' and I don't have any more problems. The only change I can tell by looking at the list that it gives is that it uses a higher resolution than the one I use and never goes over 60 because of it.

I'll give this a try.

Haven't tried lowering the settings yet I'll see if this makes a difference.
