Mini ITX or microATX?

Go to solution Solved by Clear17Mud,

mAtx is usually cheaper, and its much easyer to keep things cool in them, and also they should have more drive cages.

Hey,

I wanna build a NAS, but am stuck on the case and the motherboard. Ive got a intel e3 1200 v3 processor for now. Im prolly gonna have 4 drive bays, should I rather go with a Mini ITX or go with a mATX? Or is the motherboard not really relevant to a NAS/case?

Thanks

Doesn't matter. But an mATX board usually has more RAM slots PCI-E slots and SATA ports.

There's far more choices for mITX cases than there is good mATX imo but that comes with extra price for the mobo.
