Ok, my friend finally had his money together.

He now wants to build a desktop.

Main focus is ArmA 3 but he is also playing some other games on the side.

Budget is 1300€(Germany).

He needs a PC and a monitor. He has mouse and keyboard. He basically said he wouldnt mind getting his PC soon with only a 256gb SSD and adding an HDD in a few weeks when he can fork out some more cash.

I dont think he needs a windows licence. He sent me a horrible build which didn't include one and i think he mentioned some other thing once. Anyway he will not need an andditional windows (whatever) licence.

You have proven to be better than me in the past so ... I guess all there is left to say is: Make it rain boyz!! (Builds not money or something else - that would be weird :/ )

I did the best I could but i am uncertain if the CPU cooler is good enough. I also suspect you have some better ideas for PSUs. I am not wuite sure what to look for when seeking a mobo that overclocks well but I just tool the mobo he suggested.

On problem to note is that pcpartpicker has a horrible database in germany. We can buy from alrt.de; alternate.de; cyberport.de; of course amazon.de and many more. I dont think pcpartpicker covers anything but amazon on that short list(and there are more than only those) i still hope you have some ideas for me (and him ;) )

Still some room for an SSD, sucks about how few free-sync displays are available there though

I don't think you will be getting as good fps with that in ArmA 3. He will not gain anything from chosing the 144Hz screen. He said to me that the difference is not that apparent to him and since he won't be getting 144fps in ArmA probably not even 100 ... So the additional 120€ seem to be a wast

Well it's an option, it's more about the smoothness you get with high refresh rates and free-sync, just get a nice case instead like the HAF XB, or get an i5 with a high end board and OC it to get better FPS in arma multiplayer

or buy a nice chair
