How many gpus does this thing support?

 

It has four 6+2-Pin connectors, so 2 GPUs.

 

The RM850x actually have six 6+2 pin PEG connectors.

Edit: It also seem that Corsair put up the wrong information on their website. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/rmx-series-rm850x-850-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu

Corsair Joseph may want to report this and have it corrected to whoever manage their website.
