For whatever reason whenever i turn my computer off it turns right back on afterwards. I doubt i have any viruses as I factory reset recently and haven't downloaded anything but steam games and trusted programs. Could it be that another computer shares the microsoft account with another? Could it be updates?

Check to make sure that you don't have WOL enabled in the BIOS. Also check to see if your mobo has a dehumidifier function.

If you unplug it, plug it in, does it auto start? If so, it could be that your power jumper is permanently shorted.

What is WOL?

Wake on LAN. It's a feture used if you have remote access set up for your computer that gives the ability to turn your computer on remotely. If it's turned on but not set up properly then it will cause your computer to turn on whenever it detects a LAN connection of any kind.

It wont let me boot into bios, goes straight to windows but right before it "shuts down" flashes a few programs preventing shutdown

What are your system specs? (Always post your complete system specs when you are troubleshooting something so that we know what you are working with.)

Unplug the ethernet cable, then do a hard shut down (press and hold the power button for approx 7-10 seconds until the computer turns off). Then let us know if turns itself back on.

Ok, then check your motherboard manual for the "Enter BIOS" key (if you don't know what it is already; usually F2, F11, Del, or Esc). Turn on the PC and spam the crap out of the Enter BIOS key.

I poked around in the bios (had actually never used this asus bios it was very intuitive) didnt see that WOL was on but the issue seems to have stopped. I wonder if a program was just merely preventing a full shutdown

That's possible. Just keep an eye on it for now.

Whenever a button on my ps/2 keyboard is pressed it turns on. I have no idea how to change something like that in the bios

Check your mobo manual for any kind of "Wake on..." feature. There are some that have Wake on USB and Wake on PS/2 feature. My brother's new computer has a wake on USB feature that I can't seem to turn off, so his computer turns on if you push any button on his mouse. As a starting point, just read through the entire mobo manual and see if anything jumps out at you.

Is your power button set to "sleep" the computer, instead of power down, by any chance? I'd check that first.

In device manager, right click your keyboard. Hit properties. Switch to the power management tab. De-select "allow this device to wake the computer."
That should keep it from waking up from sleep.
