GPI Partition?

Hello guys, 

               My friend is working on building a new computer. He purchased all his parts recently and put it together. Although, he is running in to numerous problems installing windows. He said that when he tried to install windows, the computer came up saying he needed to wipe his SSD, and reformat the hard drive. He also said that an error was coming up that discussed a GPI partition, when he tried to install windows. He wasn't able to give me too much information, and he is really frustrated with the entire thing. Please try to provide me with as much info as you can so I can assist him. All help is appreciated and thank you in advance.
