i have virizon internet with the virizon default router. Virizon will not let me change the router to my own and the router is ridiculously slow. i do a speed test and it says my download speeds are around 30 mb per second, yet when i download a game from steam it says i am only getting 5 mb per second or lower. is there anything I can do to improve speeds or change my router?

I am guessing it is the modem and just buy whatever router you want then make it so their modem is PPOE so it sends all the routing work to the router. I do this with an Apple router and it works amazing

I am guessing it is the modem and just buy whatever router you want then make it so their modem is PPOE so it sends all the routing work to the router. I do this with an Apple router and it works amazing

how would i set it to PPPoE? im kind of a noob when it comes to internet stuff.

Make sure you are connected to ethernet or if you have to directly to the router and go to 192.168.0.1 and the login. Somewhere under the settings should be PPOE and turn that on with your other router set up and you should be good to go. You could probably look up a video if you really wanted.

Make sure you are connected to ethernet or if you have to directly to the router and go to 192.168.0.1 and the login. Somewhere under the settings should be PPOE and turn that on with your other router set up and you should be good to go. You could probably look up a video if you really wanted.

Did you change it? If not then it will probably be admin as username and password or admin as password
