how to make a boot disk?

how do you make a boot disk? i tryed windows media creation tool and burned the .iso to the disk but the pre built hp does not detect it as a bootable disk. we were upgradinng the pc with a clean SSD but cant find a way to get a os on it

Just use the Media Creation Tool to install create a bootable media of the USB drive. That's it.

would the prebuilt hp auto boot off of the usb drive or is it in the bios or something

 

BIOS. Configure boot order.

Unfortunately, this MAY not be possible as HP uses proprietary boards. I'm not absolutely sure but HP boards might not have a BIOS accessible to the average consumer. It makes sense. Then they can charge the consumer more by including an overpriced SSD in the original computer.

EDIT: I take all of that back. Check their support website.
