New Build, UK

DixonM4

Hello all I'm new here and from the UK, I've spent the last few months watching Linus's videos and i have come up with a set of components I'm planning on buying. Before i do please can you have a look over them and let me know your opinions.

Thanks

Richard

I am building this rig to play the odd new game (at descent settings), i regularly run a lot of applications at once and i seem to be doing more and more 3d modelling as time goes on, so i need to be able to do this happily, I currently have 2x22" LED monitors, which i would like the option to have 3 at some point.

That CPU is locked so you can't overclock it. Either get the 6700 and a H170 or B150 motherboard if you aren't OCing or get the 6700K and a Z170 motherboard if you are. Also, it makes it easier if you use PCPartPicker.com. 16GB of RAM will be enough also, and if the 3D modelling applications are not CUDA-reliant than get an R9 390.

Either get a cheaper non-Z series MOBO or get an unlocked CPU (no K means no OC).

A 390 will do better in nearly every game for about the same price.

You don't need 32GB of RAM for gaming. 16GB will suffice.

3D modelling.

Still doesn't need 32GB. Save the money and buy a 6700K or 5820K.

Much better. I would recommend changing that PSU to an EVGA GS 550W as the EVGA will be a similar if not better quality unit for less cash, but the build is very good overall.
