Hey peoples!

Wasn't sure if I should have put this under the GPU section or here, though I had a question about Nvidia DSR.

I have a GTX 670 FTW and am currently just using a 27'' 1080p TV screen for my gaming.

I am looking to get a new GPU and monitor soon, most likely a 1440p monitor, since I heard it's better to go with than a 4k or multiple 1080p monitors.

Anyways, I decided to try DSR mode out to see if I can tell a difference with a higher resolution on my screen. I tried it out on Battlefield 4 and Rainbow Six Siege for example. I put the resolution on 2715x1560 (Something like that).

Though my frames obviously dropped, I didn't really notice a difference in quality. I know it's still a 1080p screen, though I thought I would still notice some difference. Am I blind to this, or is there really no big impact with DSR? I was hoping to kind of see what 1440 or 4k would look like, but I clearly can't lol.

Would I notice a big difference with an actual 1440p screen too?

So, what's the dealio?

Thanks guys!

DSR's only impact is AA, it's basically the same as SSAA where you uprez the image and downsize to keep the edges smooth.  Not every game benefits from this as they may already implement strong AA settings and/or the lighting in the game (especially BF4) hides most of the imperfections in the base game anyway.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.
