GTX 980 G1 overclocking

im overclocking my GTX 980 g1 gaming and i got 1572Mhz +200 core +150 mem and its stable on 1 monitor but when i hook a 2nd one up why does it crash? my 1st monitor is an hp elite display e231 when my 2nd is a acer monitor that is 7 years old could my acer monitor be to old?
