I am looking for a really color-accurate, saturated and vibrant display. Right now, I'm in between a rock and a hard place. My old monitor is 21.5 inches and works at an insanely weird resolution. The monitor I originally wanted is about $800 depending on where you look. So I need a somewhat quality by cost-effective solution as I transition.

Thanks in advance.

funny story, there is no 1080p IPS 144hz monitor.

You need to got 1440p if you want all them features.

except he never mentioned 144hz and there are PLENTY of good IPS 1080p monitors out there ;)

I don't really care about the refresh rate. I'm looking to video edit on it for a while.

i would look for one of those dell utrasharp monitors.

If you are video editing I would even more recommend a 1440p monitor. So much more work space and freedom.

That's very true. But if I'm planning on buying an ultrawide 4k in the future it doesn't make sense to still splurge 200 bucks more on a 1440p display.

I'm sure you've seen this a million times but

with 1440p you can see the content you are making at 1080p and still space too see your time lines, tools, ext

I'm talking about the cost of the display. Say I throw away my old monitor and buy a 1440p one. The cost of one is approximately anywhere from $300-600. Now I do have my shiny new display, but I'm about 500 bucks out, and I still need to buy a 4k monitor down the line, for another $800. It doesn't make sense to buy two expensive monitors, if I'm just going to keep on replacing them. I'd rather spend it on a somewhat reliable, cost-effective option and wait to buy the better one later.
