Using an SSD for Cache/Temp Folder

Hello all

I am planning on upgrading my computer soon and giving mostly the current build to my brother (only has a laptop atm).

Current specs:

I5 3570k

Asrock z77 pro4

Gtx 770

128gb 840 evo

3tb WD Green

(Forgot PSU)

Thing is I want to keep some of the old stuff such as hard drives and graphic card. I plan to upgrade to the 6700k but I plan to migrate my current Graphic Card (waiting on Pascal, then will give my brother the 770) and hard drives (will give brother a 2tb WD Black) to the new build in addition to an extra SSD and HDD

My current issue with the current build is that I have fairly large photoshop files (work related) that are stored on the 3tb hard drive and ~26gb of free space on the SSD. When opening the photoshop files, photoshop creates a large file in the temp folder (SSD) and it used to exceed the amount of space causing the file to not load (Upwards of 30gb each time opening it). I eventually was able to split the file in half but I am closing in on that issue again on both files. It would be great if I were able to combine them back as it will increase productivity and organization.

My plan for the new computer is to use:

512gb Samsung 950 Pro m.2 --- OS/Games (That require the use of the hard drive such as CSGO/HotS)/Programs

2tb WD Black --- other storage that needs a faster Hard Drive

3tb WD Green --- movies/music, etc. (not needing to be fast)

128gb Samsung 840 Evo SSD --- strictly Windows Temp/Cache

Do you guys think this is a good idea? Or maybe have a different idea to the matter?

Thanks!
