Graphics driver corrupted?

So this was interesting day. Thought my GPU was toast because I got a crash with an adapter error, and then a blank screen after 2 minutes of rebooting. This started happening after loading up elite dangerous and trying to use a new HOTAS I got for Christmas. Tested PC with on board graphics and everything is fine.

I did a fresh install of windows and drivers, GPU now seems to be working again so I think it's ok.

This seems to be about the same time steam took a dive. What happened?!
