Hello all,

I'm at me mam's for the holidays so I can play CSGO (glory to fiber internet!) I noticed I no longer get 100% GPU usage? Whats the deal with that? Have they messed up on the updates recently or something?

I dont think CS should be using 100% of a 970 anyway... I dont think my card even goes to 100% while playing :/

Does it even matter? Are you still getting 60/120/144FPS? are you running in VSync? If so thats why

Well, i was getting it before?

I dont think CS should be using 100% of a 970 anyway... I dont think my card even goes to 100% while playing :/

I used to get that though so not sure what gives?

How do I do that?

If your FPS is the same I wouldn't worry

Yeah it pretty much only drops slightly every now and then.

I get 70%-77% max gpu usage on csgo, as long as your fps is okay its fine. :)

I get 58-73% from a quick scan of my HWinfo graph lol.

Adding more threads does nothing in CSGO, you are best leaving it as standard, it made performance worse for me on my Phenom, it caused stuttering at high FPS.

The difference is day and night. Going from 1 core to 4 doubled my fps

I'm highly doubting it, and this would benefit AMD far more than any intel CPU.

The multi core render already does what you are making it do, the extra threads serve no purpose past a certain performance point, if you are on an APU it would make sense, i can even show you solid results, i get better FPS stock than i do by using -threads 4.

I'm on a laptop. Went from 1 core at 2.6GHz to 4 cores at 2.6GHz and my 860M utilization went from 60% to 100%

That's a mobile CPU, whilst still better than my Phenom, it still has a limited TDP and thermally not as robust.

As i said, a weaker CPU should benefit more, FX and Phenom are not slow enough.

My 580 is never maxed out no matter what settings i use.

I wouldnt worry about it, my card sits at about 50% usage, and at time spikes to 65%. Nothing to be worry about, thought I dont know why it would be happening now if you used to get 100% usage before.
