Go to solution Solved by Dabombinable,

yep, I meant that, not enough tdp

Yepup one Was going to get formula iv -z, but it was $100 more

Its AM3 anyway, so with your FX9590 it wouldn't have even posted.

Edit: Also, it is part of the ROG series.

Yeah I thought this was that one chip that drew so much power that not only do you need the right socket (obviously) but beyond that there were only certain motherboards certified to be able to handle that power delivery without dying under the load.  If the MSI one OP wants to use isn't one of them, I wouldn't try it...

not crashing tho

It is one of them, but you need an AIO or custom loop to use it on most mobos.  The chipset is designed to work with the 9590; however, none of the boards minus a few gigabytes+asus ones really help with the cooling at all.  So, ya..  I mean the 9590=an 8350 factory oced up to 4.7ghz.  The 9370=an 8320 at 4.4.  They were made because some guy got a world record using the 8320+liquid nitrogen.  They had to make 2 new chipsets to support them.

never knew that :)
