Just been told BenQ monitors have terrible colours?

So i bought my 144hz BenQ xl24llz and i was told it was "n1 worst desicion" because the asus vg248qe has way better colours and BenQ monitors have terrible colours? im kinda getting the sense he was speaking out of his arse.  But i wanted to make sure, is he right and should i have gotten the vg248qe.. i mean the benq has the feature to light up dark areas and i thought it had better colours than the asus? was i wrong?

As is my understanding they are the exact same panal, I do photot editing on mine and have no beef

I got a BenQ RL2455HM and colours, in my opinion, are very good once you sort them out to your liking.  

        My PC Specs:          CPU: i5 4690k(stock speed of 3.50GHz)          GPU: MSI GTX 770 4GB          Storage: WD Blue 1TB HDD and 120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD             Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600MHz           Motherboard: Z97 Asus Maximus VII Ranger          PSU: Corsair RM650 650W          CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO                    Case: Fractal Design R4 Black Pearl with window         OS: Windows 10 Pro

I had the XL2420TE it's a TN panel... colorus are ok.

 

My New BenQ has IPS, colours better, but when screen are not side by side you get use to TN and you can't see the difference.

They're horrid xD I have an RL2455HM in the middle of 2 other IPS monitors from LG.... quite a contrast to say the least

If you wanted 144hz gaming, you made a good choice. If you want nice colors and proper accuracy/viewing etc. then the ASUS would have been the wiser choice. After all, the BenQ is TN and the ASUS is IPS. I personally prefer color accuracy over anything, so I would have gone with the ASUS. But you want gaming capabilities so your decision was fine.
