Having trouble with self-built computer

I had the same problem with my computer about 8 months ago, I don't remember every thing that I did but I do remember a few things.... First I had removed all the RAM and the CMOS battery, and also removed the SATA for all my drives, I started the PC and it yells at you for not having a drive to boot too and not having RAM. Don't worry about that, power down the PC and turn off the power supply. after 20 mins to an hour turn the power supply back on and plug the CMOS battery back in and put your RAM BACK IN AND connect your SATA Drives back up (only connect the one with the OS). Now try to start the PC, if it boots to the OS with no problems then turn it off and connect your second drive. I hope this helps.

Thank you everyone for your responses.

So I tested the RAM again and apparently one of the slots is faulty.

I tested both RAMs in both slots - if I had any RAM in slot 1, the computer would turn on and off. - if I have in the other slot it works fine.

So I just decided on RMA it.

Thank you for everyone's help!
