So what are the symptoms of certain parts not working? My motherboard's LEDs are not turning on so PSU/Mobo problem? Maybe I didn't connect all the required cables to power it?? 

first...try the basic hardware and make sure your cables are all fully plugged in

you need the 24 pin  for mobo and the 8 pin CPU power

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
