Since you're low on cash, the r9 380 might be a great choice for you! It beats out the 970 in some games and vice versa. It's a very good build! That PSU bothers me tho. I would change it to something like a 80+ Gold rated PSU. Like a EVGA 750w G2.

Skip that SSD for a faster one.

Grab a 390 for a 10% performance boost.

Switch out the PSU for a SeaSonic or XFX 650W unit.

Everything else is fine.

If you're tight on cash I'd swap the build for a 4th gen platform; depending on your area, you could get much better value. Also the ssd is poor; you said they were a good deal, but still I'd only get one if you really want to, 850 evos are much better and not insanely more. Also 380 for 970 is better value.

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

Is that a typo or are you high? A 380 is comparable to a 960, not a 970.

Holy Christ. You're the third person today who's typed "380" instead of "390".

I meant 380 because his budget sounded tight, but 390 would be good also.

The SSD is half the price of other 240gb SSDs is it worth paying the same for half the storage?

Yes. The SSDNow series has extremely low random reads and writes. This really shows in typical use scenarios like opening and closing applications.

It's not same price for half the storage, it's half price for the same storage at a fraction of the real world speed. I wouldn't spend as much on my 3rd to 6th terbyte as my 1st 3 cos i wouldn't use it, and I would pay more for faster storage of my most important data. It depends on your utility manifold as to what you find importnant. that's something we can't answer for you, but only note the experiences other have had with the products.
