Using headphones and speakers

s1lentb0b

Hi,

I am getting into PC gaming after the past 5 years as a mac owner.

I currently have my speakers plugged into the back of my PC and I have a question.

If I want to plug in a set of headphones they have a mic and audio lead, I dont really want to have to unplug my speakers each time I want to swap to the headset.  Is there a way to easily accomplish this task?  I have seen a splitter on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Konig-Audio-Headset-Loudspeaker-Switch/dp/B000WCNF2G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1450708734&sr=8-2&keywords=pc+speaker%2Fheadphone+switch

is that the best way to go?

You can plug them into the front panel of your pc, then the speakers wil automatically be turned off and you'll receive all the audio through your headset.

this

granted to switch between the two you have to dig through the audio CP and change the default source every time. OR unplug the headphones every time your done... if either of those are no problem then just do what Zyntax said
