Dunno. Overclocking GPU and the usage sits around 70-90%

Never really overclocked a GPU before so I don't know why this is. Not enough voltage or something?

ignore the massive fps gaps in the overclock pictures, i was tabbing out

But first, let's talk about parallel universes.

Anything.

Turn off V-sync in games, if you have then you need to overclock your FX chip as it will be a cpu limit.

See this guide for OCing FX.

Try furmark.

He's running Valley or Heaven in the background, we don't need furmark to help diagnose this.

Anything.

Just thought of something, download GPU-Z and click sensor tab and see what clocks etc you're getting.

Max out that power limit and reboot your system if the driver stopped and recovered.

Furmark heavily tests on GPU, Unigine itself relies quite heavily on the CPU.

Then also why are you telling him to turn off V-Sync? He is clearly running it more than 60fps without any lock.

-snip-

What CPU are you running on?

Nah, Unigine is mostly GPU bottleneck.

And Furmark is shit, don't even represent real gaming loads.

Nah, Unigine is mostly GPU bottleneck.

Not 100% true, Unigine uses one CPU core, if you have an AMD you might as well not bother unless you have it on LN2 and hitting 6ghz to remove the bottleneck.

So what?

Unigine is also running via a game engine,

Doesn't disabling V-Sync on Unigine acts the same way as disabling it on games?

V-sync is auto disabled by selecting the extreme-HD preset, if he has selected custom and hasn't ticked disable v-sync it will reduce GPU usage, surely you know this?

If he's seeing low usage in games it might be because vsync is enabled.

I've run Heaven with my CPU downclocked to 2ghz with 2 threads and it still GPU bottleneck. I'll try run them at 1.6ghz tonight.

Open up a monitoring program, have 2 graphs, one for CPU usage and one for GPU usage, go to scene 6 on Valley and watch that gpu usage tank, I've tested it.

Wait... I am getting confused by the MSI burner stats.

He has 98% in load yet he says it's 70-90?

Or is that just in games?

You're reading the graph wrong, it's hitting 98 at one point, the rest of the graph has basically shit the bed.

Interesting, i'll try that tonight. Is that the scene with close up rocks?
