new external hd

Hi guys I wanted to get a new external hard drive for normal storing and video playing I was wondering what is the best way on doing it.

 

I need to transfer data mainly from a mac book pro to my pc and mac book pr has 2.0 usb while my pc has usb 3.0 and something like  esata 6gb/s.

 

I would like decent amount of speed for 4k video playing and fast transfer rate only on my pc.

 

So should I go for a normal 3.0 ssd or can I get the advantage of esata and get an adapter for the usb 2.0 ( if there are external hd's with esata) ?

So i can rig a NAS build up so you can build one yourself.

 

Preferably the size as well .

Oh ok, yea at that price point getting a 2tb SSD is not possible, but a 500GB one is. (I would slap a sata to USB3.0 adapter on it

maybe i can use the firewire on mac instead of the usb
