Laptop Suggestions

Hi,

Currently have and iPad and an old lenovo laptop that is starting to die. In the market for a good reliable laptop and the budget tops out at $1000. I'm not sure if I should get just a laptop, tablet, or both. Maybe even a 2-in-1. Any suggestions on any of these would be great.

Needed Specs:

Core i5

500-1000 Gb

8 Gb ram
