Does the samsung 850 pro M.2 work with my mobo

so i have the asus ROG ranger VII the one for z97 and im looking at getting the samsung 850 pro m.2 NVME ssd will it fit and id my m.2 slot sata or PCie on my mobo?

If I assume you mean the 950 pro then yes it would fit in your M.2 socket and according to asus' website the M.2 socket on your motherboard is connected via PCIe.
