Bitnami with Magento e-commerce

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with bitnamis pre-pakaged magento virtual machine, so far it just seems like password changes to the linux distro and standard configuration to magento through the admin panel.

 

Also I noticed i cannot increase the ram allocation past 1GB if i recall, so far i dont need to increase it but have been looking for a easy to understand guide.
