Ok, so i live in a rural area where adsl is the most common internet style, so that is what is at my house. We have a single router and modem in our living room and that is where all of our devices are connected. I am about to build a computer and I absolutley HATE wireless internet it is  unrelieable and I would hate to spend anymore money than I already have on a freaking adapter so if I plug a "phone line" to ADSL adapter into the jack in my wall will that work?

No. You'll need another modem, with a switch system, and well, another subscription service.

Cheaper option, is to use Ethernet. If you house is LAN ready, you should have an Ethernet jack on your wall. If not, you can pass a cable, from the router to you PC.

Options:

-> Powerful router, where you position it in the house where it is open. (not in a shelf), and a good wireless card or USB wireless adapter.

-> Use Power wall Ethernet. Basically the way it works is that you connect a special box to the power outlet next to the router (sender) (needs to be directly connected on the wall), you connect an Ethernet cable from the router and box. Now in your room, you plug another box (receiver) directly on the wall, and connect your PC to Erhernet. This method costs a bit more and you need both room to be on the same home main power circuit
