You should be fine. The S.M.A.R.T. status is an attribute of the drive's firmware and shouldn't depend on drivers. If the drive passed the extended test and the chkdsk command you should be safe. :)

Well simply put - the SSD portion of a hybrid drive acts as a bridge between the SATA connection and the HDD itself. If it fails and doesn't function there's no way that the data can reach the HDD and the drive should become inoperable. There are ways to extract the data from the drive if the cache fails, but this is another matter. :)
