Posted December 16, 2015 Sorry for the clickbaity title but i need more people seeing and responding to my questions. SO my question is this: Should I download the Latest Windows 10 Mobile Insider preview build or not? And if so, should i go for Fast Ring or Slow Ring? Some info: This is my daily driver phone (which is why i'm asking cos otherwise i wouldn't hesitate). My Phone is the Lumia 640 XL dual sim LTE. It is unlocked. I am a Windows Insider so i can do this if i want. For reference here's my current OS version - Windows Phone 8.10.15148.160 (Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 with Lumia Denim) EDIT: Gotta love Microsoft's long ass version number! Posted December 16, 2015 Windows 10 Mobile is supposed to be released soon, right? Then imo, there's no point in installing the insider preview now. I'm tempted to try it too, but I can wait a few weeks and I have only one WP device. From salty to bath salty in 2.9 seconds
 Sure there's the occasional bugs here and there but that's to be expected. As a Windows Phone user for 2 years I recommend you give the Slow Ring updates a go. After all, if you don't like it or if you have issues with it, you can revert back to your original OS version (Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2) via the software removal tool by Microsoft. Give it a go, or keep it a surprise for the official launch!

I just want to know if it's stable enough or not. A friend of mine had issues with it on his Lumia 630 a few months ago, but I guess it's more stable now. If you really want to try it now, I'd suggest choosing the slow ring. I don't even have WP 8.1 Update 2 available. If so, the latest we could expect to see the official release is July 29, 2016 Do you know how small the Mobile team is? It's freaking tiny! And also Windows 10 Mobile will probably not come until 2016. For ever 3-4 Windows 10 Desktop builds there is 1 Mobile build. Development rate is 4x slower and so Microsoft originally in April targeted October but they couldn't do October so they pushed it back to December and Microsoft has a few days left before closing for the holidays (development stops during holidays such as Christmas). So either we get a half assed version with some bug fixes + the latest build or we get it in January or February. Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it. Very true, after Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella laid-off most of the Windows Mobile team; after that fiasco that was Steve Ballmer and the purchase of Nokia. You should have done what I did; after the IT Administrators of the school I go to gave us the Wifi password (only seniors get it - Yrs 11 & 12) I saved it in OneNote. Now it doesn't matter if I reset my devices cause it'll always be in the cloud.
