Can we get a spec sheet for what you have assembled? we might be able to diagnose the problem just from the components you've put into the system, if not at least we've got a starting point.

On first glance this looks like insufficient power to the CPU. Did you connect the CPU power connectors properly? Both if needed?

As already said, we need more information to properly diagnose the situation.

There can be several problems causing this result:

  • Non functioning PSU: your PSU could be broken; disconnect it from your MoBo (and the parts) completely (!) and test if it works by connecting the green wired plug with any of the black ones of your 24pin MoBo header.
  • Unplugged power cables: This may sound kind a stupid, but you should always double or triple check the power connections; the 24pin header that powers your MoBo and the 4 or 8pin header that powers your CPU need to be plugged in to boot the system!
  • Non functioning parts: probably the worst. A broken CPU, RAM or MoBo could also cause the problem you stated here; if possible, switch them to test your system with parts the work for sure.

A more detailed review of your problem would be very helpful!

^^ this. The 24-pin delivers main power. The additional (one or two) 4 pin connectors deliver 12V DC to the CPU.

I don't use this board....Just annoyed I had to source my mobo from germany.....

That's why I said his power connector was top left.....clear plastic made it difficult to spot on the pics I was looking at.

Oh. Mixed you up with OP. ;)

8-Pin is pretty common these days.

Can't you get your stuff in Australia? Why order it from Germany?

ASUS x-99E-WS board that I brought about christmas last year....Tech is nuts over here at the best of times, can you imagine buying that sort of board, shortly before official release. ASUS australia didn't want to admit it existed for 6 months.
