Hi, I am trying to make a bootable usb for a new build with the media creation tool, but at about 50% percent it says something went wrong and gives me an error code. I've have no proxy and I already tried a clean boot and modifying registry. I have a windows 7 laptop.

Or could someone tell me the speed difference between usb 3 and disk installing cause I want to know if it's worth it.

are you able to download the ISO with the media creation tool? if so try making the bootable USB drive with rufus.

I second this recommendation. Microsoft's Media Creator hasn't been the best when it comes to handling certain USB drives, so see if you can download the ISO to your hard drive first. Then use something like RUFUS USB Tool or UNetBootIn to make the bootable USB Drive.

You don't need a disc. The ISO file is just a file on your computer. It can technically be opened like a zip folder with 7-zip.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

If I can create an iso, can I just copy this to the flash drive or no?

Are you trying to make a bootable USB for Windows 10? If so, just do the upgrade - if you want a clean install, reset it after its installed (you'll still keep it free)
