Difference in motherboards?

Go to solution Solved by TheRandomness,

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No because the more expensive mobo just has more features and pretty aesthetics. Also the more expensive mobo is usually better with overclocking but that particular one is way too much for what you need, the Z170 Pro Gamer from Asus is just fine :P

I am buying i7-6700k, 16gb some kind of ddr4 and a new mobo. Are there important differences between for example MSi Z170A PC MATE and ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO Z170? I'd buy the asus mobo just because it looks damn cool and I have money for that. Would it benefit me in any way over a cheaper z170 mobo?
