I'm making a budget rig and I'm definitely going to buy used.  I've decided on either a GTX 680, 770, or 960 depending onwhat I can get my hands on the cheapest.  I'm also on the lookout for a Radeon 7950 but they don't pop up for good prices very often.  Are there any other comparable cards I should be looking into?

Save up for a better gpu. If going budget, I would reccommend AMD. Their cards are a lot more bang for your buck.

PC SPECS: Athlon 860k, MSI 380 4GB, 8GB memory, 1TB HDD, Fractal Design Core 1000

I have to stay below $300 though.  My friend built his pc for $900 and I said I could get 2/3 the performance for 1/3 the price.  He took me up on the idea so here I am.

You can get a new r9 380 for about 160.

yep!

Performs better than a 960. Good enough for decent gaming! :)
