Help with cheap HTPC

Hi guys! It's my first time here so sorry if I do something wrong. Basically, I plan to make a pic like linus's one in his 8 core pc for under $150 video, but for a htpc and maybe light gaming. It will probably run Linux. What do I need to use as a cheap g41 motherboard? I'm thinking a g41-s03. Also, do I need ecc or non ecc Ramesh? Lastly, what cooler do I need? Is the cooler master tx2 or arctic cooling alpine 11 Rev 2 fine?
