wifi upgrade

my wifi contract expired recently, and I don't know much about wifi/ routers etc. I'm looking for something relatively cheap, but will be better than a 72 mb/s Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n connection. The isp I am currently using is TalkTalk, but they are very unreliable and... they got hacked. I am considering using BT for their ability to connect to other BT networks, but I am very open minded.
