Problem with my GPU please if anybody can help!

Go to solution Solved by hooder_,

I solved it, my cheap 10$ power supply was causing it, replaced it with a vs550 works great now!

I have a gtx 260 amp2 edition from zotac, suddenly I have this problem where the fan speed goes to 30% under load ( for eg. when I start a benchmark or stability test)

I seriously need to edit my videos and this problem occurs!

please help me get outta here! xoxo

@TheRandomness

I've even tried setting the temps manually, but it only happens when it is under load, when i close the app it goes to the set speed again

@Patrick Bateman every time i start a thing that consumes load it turns the fan speed down and when i exit the application the fan speed ramps up again

that is weird.. set a controlled fan curve in msi afterburner.. or set it at a constant speed

@Patrick Bateman

I have set a contsant speed but that doesnt help at all...

I've tried every utility possible...

Did you click Apply in MSi afterburner after setting the fan speed?

Did you turn off / close MSI afterburner after setting the fan speed or did you minimize the window?

Did you try restarting your computer?

Maybe it's something with the drivers

Does the temp on the GPU rise in MSI Afterburner or is it constant?

For some reason my GPU's temp sensor failed on me and later started working again after a week...

it rises and the fan speed percentage stays the same, but when I monitor it during the stress test the rpm of the fan goes to like 700~800, I dont know what to do next, I am outta ideas!
