So I've had this problem for a long time. I have a 3tb harddrive and a 240gb ssd. All of my main games I put on my ssd. The games that are actually on the hard drive have this weird issue where they actually freeze every once in a while. So witcher is pretty big. So its on my second harddrive. It has big freezes every few seconds. Its not a performance issue either. It happens when I play terraria. Which is pretty obnoxious. Its really been bugging me and I need to fix it. Ive defragmented. Nothing else though.. Any suggestions?

Have you done a scan of the drive using something like CrystalDisk? Checking the SMART data is a good idea, especially since a 3TB drives seem to have higher failure rates in general.

Do you have a guide you can link me to on doing this and what to check for? Never really delved into that area.

CrystalDisk can be found here: http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html * Downloads link here for easier finding: http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html

The program has a slew of benchmarks and stress tests, plus a simple SMART diagnostic. You can also use Western Digital's utility Data Lifeguard Diagnostic can be found here: http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en
