I believe DVI-D supports up to 120hz last time I checked. If you want 144hz you must use a DP to DP cable.

 

edit - nvm did a quick google search. DVI dual link should be able to output 1080p 144hz

i did. but my new Graphic card only has DP and HDMI.  and my screen only has DVI AVG and HDMI :P so im still using my old card until i get the new cable
