Keyboards Not Working

Go to solution Solved by Swndlr,

Update: Fixed it! Finally! It was something called "Filter Keys" and it was basically preventing Windows from recognizing any keystrokes :)

So basically out of nowhere 2 days ago my keyboard stopped working and I had no idea why. So I did some experimenting and restarted my PC to see that it works on a restart when Im typing in my Windows password but then when I get into Windows it wont actually type anything, this happened numerous times. I thought maybe the keyboard was shitty so I got a different one to test out and the same thing happened, it will work for my Windows password and then once actually in the OS and trying to do tasks like browsing and typing on Steam, nothing. Also, the LED's for Numlock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock are still lit up but I cant change them / they wont change if I try to change them.

If it is a motherboard issue, why would it just decide to stop working out of nowhere?

Seems a bit illogical.

The problem itself doesn't make any sense. lol

Have you booted into Safe Mode?

Yeah I wouldn't think it's a motherboard issue since you know it works at some points.

Could it be a problem with your OS? I don't know how to find out if it is or not, but that would be my guess as to what it is...

Mouse is working just fine, but within the OS my keyboard isnt working at all. I can try booting to safe mode, but I really cant see why my computer would just start spazzing out and not accepting my keyboard(s) within Windows anymore :/

I was thinking that maybe it's a virus. Maybe it'll function in Safe Mode.

Maybe Windows is bonked.

Sounds like that, if every keyboard does the same thing. Doesn't sound like a driver issue.
