Power trip when overclocking?

Well why though? I've thought of that as a solution but I'm a bit paranoid "might cause a fire" or some other stupid shit hahah xD

Your computer need the PSU power even when not running to hold BIOS settings in and stuff...otherwise you'll drain the battery on your motherboard or it will damage the battery in the long run.

Only fully drain power from the machine when you plan to unplug from the wall and do maintenance or other work on the machine.

What you are doing is not good.

Dont really know where to post because it concerns ocing the cpu and psu trips but here goes (please move if necessary).

So when i open my pc (the one in the sig) and when i say open I flip the psu switch at the back and press the power button. My pc opens for 2 secs power trips then it comes back on again. Only happens when I oc the cpu. Everything is stable though. 4820k @ 4.8 1.375v

I always flip the psu switch off when I shut down. Only happens when I turn on the psu (from off) when booting up. However when the psu is already on and boot up from shut down it starts without tripping. Just curious any ideas?

Oh btw psu's were 850g2 & 1200p2 from evga and was running off from an extension to the wall.
