i want to find a used i7 from newer socket but i cant .i can find i7 from the socket 1366 but i can also find the fx 8320 which is newer what to choose between these two ??

What do you need it for? The 8320 should be slightly better overall, but worse in single threaded performance.

Find a motherboard and socket you want to do a build with first, put some research in yourself man... sounds like you are trying to do a budget build and don't mind buying used? Am I right?

not sure if you know this, but 2600s (and all non-k sandy i7s and i5s) actually have a partially unlocked multiplier that goes up to 8x higher than base clock (meaning exactly 4.2 for the 2600). I actually tested it and it works like a charm - it'd just need a better cooler, but I'm on it

My friends i7 2600 goes to just over 4.2Ghz (all cores) with his Asrock z75 board with a stock heat sink.

yeah, above 4.2 you need to use bclk though (careful with that stock heatsink, when I tried it I was getting above what I'd consider safe temperatures)

Yea he backed it off to 4 because it sounded like a jet engine in the summer time

yeah, like I said it depends on what you need. The 8320 is more powerful overall, however it's ipc is worse - so if it's for mainly games the i7 might be a better choice.

I would either get a 920 or a 980(x), if you can find it for cheap
