Recommended ~$100 tablet?

So my sister wants a tablet for Christmas, most likely because she just wants to play Fallout Shelter on a bigger screen than her iPhone xD. She saw the Fire 7 for $50 and immediately put it on her Christmas list. I saw the Nexus 7 for $100 on Groupon and I'm thinking that might be a better choice. She wants something smaller (like iPad mini or less), and preferably not too expensive. Now that she's shown my parents the $50 one they're not going to want to spend much more than that. Any recommendations?
