So I updated my Asus Maximus 6 Gene from Bios 1505 to 1603, took note of all my bios settings, did the bios update and set everything back to the same settings. (UEFI & Raid) Yet the raid still reports as failed with 2 of the 3 disks no longer being part of the volume.

What are my options ?

Can I flash the bios back to 1503 to fix it ?

Can I rebuild the array without losing data ? (everything works)

Can I rebuild the array and recover the data ? (windows = broken but data is safe)

That's no moon, that's a death ball !

You'll need to turn RAID back on first.  Everything should be there, just go in and check everything.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Raid is enabled, otherwise I wouldn't even see that the raid has failed.

I'm trying to stay calm and look at all the options first before doing anything rash.

not in the uefi, in the raid set up. I'm not for sure exactly how to get to it on your board, but it usually requires hitting a hot key after the uefi page.

So I've followed the steps on overclock.net and I can see my files & folders listed in TestDisk.

Does anyone know what the typical windows partition looks like ? Because now all the partitions are listed as deleted.

I need to mark each partition as being primary, extended, logical or Primary bootable.

Ok found out that under EFI, all partitions are Primary.

Went for it and Using MiniXP on the hirens boot stick, I can now see & copy all files to an external SSD. SUPERB.

I don't have any networking under XP so I'll use a linux environment to make another backup to my server.

After that I'll test if I can restore the boot using Win10 Recovery stick.

I'm just glad I saved my data. This could have been disastrous.

You should be able to to save the raid array.

Enable raid in bios then restart.

It normally gives you an option, something like CTRL + X which will load up raid. You then say what drives go where like 3 drives for raid 0. It should then just stitch them together rather that wiping them all.

However go with your back up option first just in case.

It's not a race to the bottom.

The RAID Recovery option in the intel interface (which is in the uefi when legacy mode / CSM is disabled, and CTRL+I when legacy mode / CSM is enabled) is not available for RAID0. Also when deleting and creating a raid array, it does not wipe anything, just the raid metadata.
