Help with windows 10,

A few days ago my sisters laptop hdd died, so I took in her pc to fix it, ordered an ssd and replaced it, and installed windows 10 (from a burned iso). Having an issue with activation though, it not activating since I don't have a key for it (although I've always been told that as long as it's the same motherboard that wouldn't be an issue, so I'd imagine it should register) is there any way to fix this? I really don't want to have to go out and buy a windows 10 key.

Burned iso? Why not use the media creation tool?

that's what i meant when i said burned iso, couldn't think of the correct term for it. I used the microsoft tool to make a boot disc

Yes you could use a generic key. For example this one

VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

If it don´t work is simple just google win10 free key.

Note: your windows will not be activated

Yes now windows will been installed. But your windows will never be genuine and it will not be activated. But u can use at the same way.

What you could do is install windows 7 on her PC and then upgrade to Windows 10 (if you have the windows 7 key).

If you want a cheap key you could get one from a site like kinguin or reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap for like 15 to 20 bucks.

What you could do is install windows 7 on her PC and then upgrade to Windows 10 (if you have the windows 7 key).

I don't have any available 7 or 8.1 keys. And I'd rather go the route of not having to spend anymore money

to get it activated, install the original version of windows 7/8 AND activate(slui 2) then upgrade to win10 before clean installing it
