H440 Fan Controller

Have just got a H440.

 

Connected all the fans to the Fan Controller, put the PWM cable in System Fan 2, doesnt show in the motherboard stats though. It told me to put the CPU cable in the fan controller, but the cable isnt long enough.

 

The fans keep going full, then silent all the time. I would like them to be silent all the time.

 

What is wrong with it?

Well if it told you to put the CPU cable in the fan controller then it could be the problem. Maybe look for an extender of some sort online.

Okay, but why would the fans keep going up and down all the time?

To be honest I don't know. I can only suggest following the instructions 100%. For whatever reason your fan controller is confused and is probably automatically adjusting the speeds constantly.

You said it didn't show up in the BIOS right? It could be because of the CPU cable.

I found out why, and its really odd. I reset the CPU fan speed to defaults, and its quite again. The fan controller is not connected to the CPU fan, so I have no idea how that worked.

 

Confusing....
