I just picked up a new 1440p monitor (ACER G257HU) and am having a lot of performance issues with running games at 1440p. I didn't expect to be maxing out every new game at 1440p, but even on games like rocket league I get 20-30 FPS with AA off. I've looked up videos of R9 380s doing better then that. My driver packaging version is 15.30.1025, but even before I updated them (was on like 15.15 I think) I still had this problem.

I currently have a dual monitor setup (second monitor is in part list) and I had no issues running games in 1080p on that monitor, performance was as expected. However, in Rocket League, downscaling the 1440p monitor to 1080p saw almost no increase in performance, which does not seem right at all. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

PSU is crappy - could be supplying unclean power

EDIT: Gigabyte 390 is a notoriously broken card. Could be simply that

But I never had any issues with the PSU on the 1080p monitor, and 1080p on the 1440p monitor doesnt work well either.

What kind of issues is the Gigabyte 390 known for? Should I try to RMA it?

While the PSU is not the best I doubt it would be the reason. And the only thing I know of that is wrong with the Gigabyte version is that it's voltage locked.

It's a miracle your card even works. 50% of people report the Gigabyte 390 to have regular black screens, broken fan controllers, broken BIOSes and so much more

Really? I havn't had any issues until i introduced 1440p to the mix, everything else has been just fine. I bought the card off of amazon, should i contact Gigabyte about an RMA?

Try to return it and get MSI, Sapphire, XFX or Power Color

Nope, the 1440p monitor is using Displayport, the 1080p one is using HDMI atm.
