Wierd ping behavior

Hey Guys

I recently expanded our network conection to higher down speeds, and now comes the problem eversince i did that my ping in games like CS:GO is behaving wierd it goes up to 1000ms for a short time and then gets down to a normal level.this happens periodically and i dont know why.

Did you change any networking hardware at all during the upgrade? If no, then this is most likely and ISP issue and you should call them. If yes, then it's probably faulty hardware.

 

I've ran into issues like this and i ended downgrading the service because the ISP could never track down the issues (ping spikes with remote IP phones is really bad). Eventually we just switched to dedicated fiber which has solved all of those issues, although it's an expensive way to go.

Look at seeing if your router needs a firmware upgrade.
