Are you definitely set on AMD? You could literally swap out the GPU and CPU o that build and have something awesome.

Just upgrade ur CPu to an i5 + aftermarket cooler and get the best GPU u can get, no need to replace anything else, and definably not a good idea to go to a AMD CPu if ur already on an intel platform.

If you have a tight budget then yes AMD might be the best option but if you can afford an i5 then you should go for it.

That's all u need

U could even get a better CPU cooler like a Noctua NH-D15 and/or a GTX 980ti instead of the R9 390x

It's understandable. It's rather ambiguous because poeple will tell you lots of different things. Looking at facts, you can save about £500 by just switching out the CPU and GPU - maybe even go and spend all your budget on one or the other.

In my opinion: i5 4690(K for overclocking room) and an GTX 970 or R9390, as @Fluxx said.
