Need help for upgrading Memory

Hello There,

I have a LG E530 Laptop which has 2GB Memory and i want to upgrade it to 8Gb or 10Gb
My doubt is Should I add a new 8Gb stick with the existing 2Gb (8+2=10)
Or should i get 2x 4gb sticks to run on dual channel memory
the current memory stick i have is Hynix Korea 11 2gb Rx8 PC3 10600S 9 10 B1 RAM
So which config is better (8+2=10) or 2x 4GB ?

Very Confused  :(

buy a new laptop - chances are the machine is old and decrepit thus the RAM is the least of your problems

2*4gb should be better. If you need more memory go with 8+2.

How much ram does your laptop support ?

8+2 is a strange configuration, but it should work if the sticks are compatible.

preferrably is the 2x4 GB path because of no compatibility issues which can occur but don't have to. I upgraded also from single 4gb to 8gb with a whole new kit

for first.. it has only 8 gig of ram supported.. second I doubt there is any dual channel on that thing.... third.. I would get only 2 gig of ram so you would have 4 gig.. that's enough for that laptop

Well it depends. If you want you can keep your 2gb stick and upgrade it later, you can't do that with 2x4GB
